This artwork is my first commission. First, I sketched out the reference photo of a F1 Marlboro McLaren that the customer wanted with a pencil. Then, I used a variety of brushes and colors to achieve a certain appearance or texture, like in the trees, and I used small detail brushes for the lettering. The customer wanted the painting to look more vivid and "alive" than the reference photo so it can match the aesthetic of their room when they hang it up on the wall.. I sent them a photoshopped photo with trees and a bright blue sky.

Commission 02

This artwork is my second commission. The customer wanted to gift their mother with a painted picture of the mother's father, someone special to her that unfortunately passed away. The customer sent a reference photo of him but wanted a solid color background instead of the background of the one shown in the photo. I used Photoshop to mask out the main subject(his grandfather) and adjusted the right arm to match the other and added a background that the customer was satisfied with, which was a desaturated blue. First, I sketched out the image with a pencil on an 18" x 24" canvas (the customer's desired canvas size). Then, I started applying acrylic paint and took progress photos to send to the customer throughout the process, making sure the customer was satisfied.

Commission 03
Media: Rug Tufting

This artwork is my first rug commission. On January 31, the customer wanted to gift their friend's birthday with a rug of "Jake the Dog" from of the friend's favorite cartoon, "Adventure Time". The friend's birthday was on February 3, meaning I was on a time crunch. The customer sent a references of the face of Jake the dog, and I immediately went to the store to get the supplies the same day. After that, I projected the reference with my mini projector onto my tufting frame, and traced the image with a marker. Then, I threaded my tufting machine when by color tufting inside the lines. I took the opportunity to record my progress and posted it on my instagram (@kirby.is.alive). After finishing the rug, I wrapped the box in birthday wrapping paper requested by the customer in a box. The customer picked up the box a day before their friend's birthday.
